Oak-town

For the past month I have been house-sitting for family friends in Oakland. It's been fun, having a place all to your self is cool. Though, being so far from family and friends can suck when you want to hang out and it seems like you are on the other side of the world...when really you are just a bridge away. Greg and I have realized that we could definitly live over here, there are some really nice areas of Oakland. Like the other day we drove down to Lake Merrit. That is a pretty nice area. We drove on Lake Park blvd (?) and that takes you up into some really nice homes.

Tomorrow I'll be heading home, I kinda miss home. Mom, karina, good cooking. Seriously when I move out on my own, I REALLY need to take some kind of cooking class. I have been eating the simplest things- frozen chicken strips, french fries, rice-a-roni, pasta, frozen dinners...not 100% healthy. But I did finally get a pilates dvd, and that workout has been really good. Though I haven't been doing it for a week or so due to midterms and used car shopping.

Greg's car has gone ka-put, and we decided instead of dumping money into fixing his car, we should just invest in a better used car. So that has been a little stressful, looking and seeing cars, figuring out money- it's been a rough week. But we've been handling it very well, talking to each other and stuff. We're still waiting to hear back from this one guy, we'll see. At least I won't be stessing about school for a week- aka: Spring Break!!! I'll be working mostly- fun. To bad the weather is predicted to be so crapy, otherwise I could pretend that Ocean Beach is Cabo San Lucas. Hehehe. Ciao.
