Concerts, Hockey Games, Movies

so over the past 3 weeks or so I have been a busy girl. Greg and I went to see Foo Fighters and Weezer in concert- awesome show! I have some great pics too of Weezer, and if you look closely, you'll notice there are some very muscualr men stripping on stage during a song. It was their last song, and I think Dave (FF) set that one up to surprise the Weezer guys. Hilarious.

Then less than a week later Greg and I went with a friend of his and his wife to a Sharks game. We'd been wanting to see them play for a long time, so that was a real treat. I had on my over-sized Sharks jersey and was screaming and jumping. Greg found it quite amusing.

Then, about 5 days later Greg's dad (Brian) took me and the McQ family and Greg's godfather out for a special evening, consisting of dinner and a show. The dinner wasn't really the big surprise, though Brian sure did keep it under wraps until a few days before. We had dinner at this fancy Italian place in San jose called Il Forino. Now, Greg and I were a bit suspicious about what the "show" would be. We checked out where the restaurant was in SJ, and noticed it was very close to the HP Pavillion. So we checked what shows were going on that night- you know who was playing- Paul McCartney. Greg and i were trying to not get all worked up because we figured there was no way his dad got us all tickets for him, even though we know how much Brian LOVES the Bealtes and Paul and the rest of the guys, it just seemed impossible. So after dinner, we got these goodie bags, and some stuff in it was hinting at the show. We got mini-magic 8-balls, glow sticks (getting closer) and voila- ear plugs. Greg and I were like " we know we know!!" and sure enough he busted out tickets for PM.!!!!!!! We were all freaking out- and not only that- but he got us all iPod Shuffles!!! Crazy man. So that was an amazing night, though i admit, after less than 2 weeks of work, school, and all these late night shows, my energy levels were at zero. But I did enjoy the show, PM rocks!

Then, this past weekend, Greg and I decided to be crazy and go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. Major mistake. I was practically asleep by 10:30pm, and our movie didn't start until 12:30am, we got home at 4am and i was supposed to be waking up at 5:45am to go work. Not smart, but the movie was really great. may even have to see it again when I'm not 1/2 asleep.

Okay, just thought i would update you all on the events area of my life. :)

Ickie Group Work

I have the pleasure of working with the same group of people in my marketing class all semester long on this one project. At first, it started out okay, I started noticing everyone's personalitites, but for the most part they all seemed cool. It's always around the early mid-semester stages that you REALLY start to see how people opperate. I tell ya, my group has some "special" people in it. One is "the follower" just goes with the flow, doesn't ever really seem to have an opinion, one is "the aggressor" not afraid to say how they feel and takes charge, the last one is "the most-unreliable-irresponsilbe-airhead" and if you can't figure out how this person acts based on my lovely description....well read it again. And me, well I tend to try an be the organizer, makong sure we are all on task, turning things in on time, etc., and a peacemaker, don't usually rock the boat, and if there is any, I try to mediate as best i can, and i consider myself a very responsible member.

Lately for this project I was seriously stressing out- so much that it all came to a breaking point of me crying and my whole body was freaking out- eye burning, nose bleeds, throat tensing up, etc. It took me a few days...maybe even a while week, to get myself together. To understand that I can't control every aspect of this project, as much as I try, and that I can only do so much, and as long as I am doing my best, then that is okay. And i also realized that I need to not have this group crap on my mind 24/7, need to learn to relax, and not take it all on myself to do this and that. So far it's been working, not feeling as stressed, despite the fact that my group is slightly falling apart, i think the rest will be okay. thanks for listening. :)

Emeril and Elmo!

On Friday night as I was flipping channels to see what was on TV, I came across the food channel to find Emeril with Elmo cooking! It was the cutest thing. Sadly I caught only the last like 10 minutes, but it was great! Emeril and Elmo made biscuits with strawberries and whip cream, and Elmo was the sweetest thing! If they ever re-run it I hope I can record it. Here is the site with the info: http://www.sesameworkshop.org/healthyhabits/emeril.php
