Sizzle

Jesus it is hot!! It's crazy. I know I am a fan of sunshine and all but this is pushing it. I'm starting to look forward to the cooler weather in England. Speaking of, no updates as of yet but it is still the plan. I've been watching the World Cup lately, figured if I am going to live in Europe I better get into their footbal. I am enjoying it, and it helps that at work we have an Xbox and I play it constantly with a coworker, who is Italian. So right now we are dueling it out between Italy and Germany, and some days we play whatever teams are playing that day. Germany is kicking ass- woohoo. I am even going to get myself a jersey to show my support.

And don't think I'm an unsupportive American that I wasn't also rooting for the USA, but hey you need to have back up teams. Plus considering how diverse we all are and that my heritage comes from Germany and Ireland, I have to support them as well. Why doesn't Ireland have a World Cup team? What's gives?

Website Project

For my summer class we had to create a website and make it all pretty and fancy. I confess I did not know much about the HTML aspects of this assignment, but I have been curious to learn. I found this one website that was quite helpful called HTML Goodies. It had information on changing background colors, text colors, and other fun stuff.

I also bought a book from Borders called Creating Web Pages with HTML. Mainly this book is to help me learn HTML for work purposes, but it also proved useful for this assignment. I look forward to learning more about HTML, and hopefully if you return to my site you'll be able to see changes that reflect my new HTML skills.

Moving to London

Yep, tis true, by the end of 2006 Greg and I should be all set to move to London. This all came about because I had thoughts of doing a semester abroad. But Greg and I were supposed to be moving out and into our own place by the end of the summer, and if that happened, there is no way I could have left him for a semester, financially. Then I started thinking, well maybe we should wait to move out after I do a semester, or maybe I can take him with me,....and basically that all lead to the idea that we should just up and move to London.

We have no obligations here, bills, rent, kids, etc. And since I have an Irish passport, I can easily live and work in the UK free as a bird. So work, not an issue, school on the other hand was a bigger concern. I really wanted to be able to contine my studies abroad, but even with my Irish passport, I still need to live in Europe for a few years to not have to pay international fees- which are crazy expensive. So, I am pulling out of school. I had another summer class lined up and 2 Fall classes which I'll be dropping, and once we are settled in London, I can look into getting into a school over there.

So yeah, this is the plan, and we are doing it. And 6 months to prepare for this isn't very long, but we'll do it. Two biggest things are me getting a solid job over there, and then finding an affordable flat (hehe). Thanks to everyone who knows thus far for your support, it really means a lot to me.

Cheers :)
