Weekend Update

You probably though that since the World Cup is over, that I've forgotten about soccer? Well think again - I am acutally going to start playing soccer on Sunday August 6th. A college friend has been on this recreational league for a while, and even before the World Cup, I wanted to joing, but they had just started their season, so I have had to wait. The season starts this upcoming Sunday and i can't wait. I bought myself some fun soccer gear, and Greg has been helping me practice my moves. I'll be sure to post pictures of me in action.

Saturday Greg and I went to the Berkeley Kite Festival, which was really cool. So many different kites or all shapes and sizes. I took pictures, but Smacky is being re-callibrated so you'll have to wait til that is done to see them. The coolest part was the ballet event, where these guys fly their kites to music. It was really amazing the control that they had on their kites and how animated they become when flying to music.

Later that evening we were on our way to play billiards, took a wrong turn, and came across Laser Quest. We player one round with like 30 other young kids (probably junior high - high school) and it was blast. I highly recommend this place.

All in all it's been a fun weekend - hope yours was too.

Germany for the World Cup!

Germany made it to the semi-finals after an excrutiatingly long game against Argentina. Tied 1-1 at the end of the game, they went through 30 minute sof OT, still no goals on either side, so it was down to the goal kicks where Germany prevailed! Italy had a pretty clean sweep against the Ukraine, 3-0 putting them in the challengers seat for Tuesday's game against Germany.

Germany will take this, I can feel it. And now that I have my authentic jersey from Germany (thanks mom) I am ready to support my team. If you get a chance, I highly recommend you watch the game. Tuesday July 4th at 12pm PDT.

GO GERMANY!
