First work week
Sorry for the long gap between posts. I had my first full work week which kept me busy all week long. I don't have a normal 9-5 work day anymore. Back home I could get off work at 5pm and still have a few hours to go run errands. Here everything closes at 5 or 6pm, so when I am "off work" I can't do anything. So what I have to do is take a big break middle of the day, do my errands, then come back to the pub and work later. It isn't too bad, just have to get used to that as my routine. Working in the pub is cool though. I wake up, shower and dress, grab my laptop and come downstairs sit at a table and set up my "desk" and start working. And because the pub doesn't open until noon, the morning hours are quiet and even when Sublime opens the afternoons are pretty chill. Only a few lunch rushes here and there. Monday I had a rough start to work. Was supposed to catch an 8:23am train to Chippenham to work with Chris in his home office. I work up at 8:30am. *doh* Luckily Chris wasn't uspset, he just said I'll see you tomorrow then. I was pissed though because I paid for a ticket I didn't even use. What a waste.
The rest of my week was busy busy. Tried to get a cell phone but they want a bank statement which will prove my address and that I have a bank account. It should come in the post in about a week. Tuesday night was JD's (my other flatmate and Nick's business partner) 30th Birthday so we all went out on the piss. But it was a short night because we went to the River, but Alex was being a pain and said he didn't want to go because he would get drunk, and he was already quite intoxicated. But he kept texting his friend telling me to go hang out with him at Sublime so I leave the River and go to Sublime to convince him to come out. It took a while but I managed to do so. But we get there are they won't let us in. So we head back to his place, which is the Old Fish Market and I stayed there. Probably a good thing because I got some decent sleep and the rest of the group stayed up drinking until 8am. Yeah I am not that hardcore. Haha.
Friday night a bunch of us went to the Dogs (Greyhound racing) in Swindon. It was so much fun. Alex organized it and we all paid 10 quid for a bus that would take us there and back. Placed some bets, and was wining every other race in the beginning but then I hit a wall and lost the rest sadly. But since I had won some money back I only ended up losing 5 quid. Not bad. Spent more money on beer, which they had a great deal, 5 bottles of Stella for 10 pounds. Score! Saturday has been a chill day for me. Slept in, did grocery shopping, uploaded photos, updating my blog, and still need to go laundry and then this group called Midnight Sausage is playing at Sublime again tonight so I will stick around for that. They are really good, just two guys with acoustic guitars. But man can they play, and when they do covers it is amazing. Will try and get a recording and share it.
