A Very English Weekend

England has been doing very well in the Rugby world cup. Last weekend was the quarter-finals, which we won against Australia (woo!), so this past Saturday we played France in the semi-finals. For those who are not familiar, English people seriosuly disklike the Fench. So not only was it important Rugby-wise top win, but also for the fact England doesn't like France. AND- there was also a World Cup qualifier football match on earlier in the afternoon, England vs Estonia, which was fairly important. So basically we are talking about a whole day of English sports (aka- lots of drinking). Got to The Old Fish Market at 3pm when the football match started. Watched with friends Jason and Roz, was a great game, England scored 2 goals then a guy from Estonia scored the 3rd goal for them (classic).

Then at 8pm-ish the rugby started. But even before this the pub was getting fuller and fuller to the point where you couldn't move an inch. Oh, and we have this thing about sticking notes on our friends backs, with silly stuff like "I wet the bed" or "I like to touch boys" so that was going on all day providing us with much amusement. It got to the point where we were all so paranoid anytime one of us walked by the other everyone was constantly turning to check their backs. Even people around us, who were watching our little game, were getting paranoid!

Back to rugby- Enland won (double woo!) meaning we move on to the finals next weekend. Sunday South Africa and Argentina played, personally I wanted S. Africa to win so I could hassle Dan about England beating them in the finals, and luckily they did win so it's England vs S. Africa this upcoming weekend. After the rugby match headed to Sublime for a friend's 30th bday party, where drinking continued until about 4am. Sunday was completely knackered, not hungover in the sick-headache way, just really tired. Met up with some girlfriends and watch the most depressing movie (Becoming Jane) about Jane Austin. And upon finishing the downer of a film we decided to go out to Mbargo's to cheer ourselves up. None of us could believe we were actually going to go out again after we all had very drunk-Saturday nights, but we're young so we can handle it. Was a pretty chill night, didn't want to have another crazy one. This week am being good and not going out, want to save my energy (and liver) for the weekend - GO ENGLAND!!!!
