Back to Normal?

It's only been 2 weeks since I left California and came back to Bristol but feels like much longer. Since I have come back it's been go-go-go. Started looking for a new flat right away, which was causing me a bit of stress, but luckily the situation has turned out for the best. Instead of all 3 of us moving out of the flat, my flat mates are moving out and my friend Ashley is moving in. Sure the flat has its quirks but it really quite nice, big and has a prime location, so i am very happy to not be leaving it.

With that sorted I had time to focus on work, which has been very busy- even had to work on a Saturday last weekend! Wasn't too bad though, worked with my boss on adding the final voice-over touches to this 8 minute demo we created for a tradeshow we were attending. Hilarious stuff anytime my boss Chris messed up- we have all sorts of "bloopers" with him saying "shit,f*ck, bollocks".

Have also started training again for the half marathon. My new trainers are awesome (thanks mom), the only problem I am having at the moment is breathing. Can't seem to find a good rhythym. But my friend Matt, who has started running with Jaume and I, told me of a shop in Bristol that specializes in running so i'll pop in there soon to see if they have advice.

Happy 2008!!!

New Year started on a positive note- no crapy hangover!! Spent NY Day meeting up with friends, walked along Ocean Beach taking pictures (beautiful!), then met more friends in the evening and went out for dinner at an Indian place. Am normally not a huge fan of Indian (too spicey for me), but I ordered what sounded like the least spicey thing and really enjoyed it.

Was then back in the SF office for work, nothing to eventful there other than it is getting really busy. Friday a huge storm came through northern Cali, takin down trees, fences, etc. Luckily I chose to work from home that day, as I was going to hang out with Karina later, but what seemed like a good idea at first turned south when we lost power at the house. No internet and no power to the laptop would make working difficult. Ended up driving early to my sisters and working for a few hours from there.

That night Karina and I went to Red Robin for dinner (yum!!) then to an improv comedy show, which turned out to be quite good. Back at her place we stayed up til 3am watching DVDs, then I was up at 6:30am to get showered and dressed to drive for about 3ish hours to Woodland to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins. Seeing them was great, those little boys are growing up so fast and they talk and talk and talk. After a few hours with them I headed back to the bay area to have a visit with my godmother. After she left I went and took a nap so I would have energy for bowling later in the evening with friends.

Bowling was fun, though not very long. After we went to a cool little bar, drank more, and played a bit of pool. Sunday was my lazy day. Didn't have any plans to see anyone until later that evening, and as it was only a few days before I had to leave, so I needed to finish buying souvies and presies, and an extra suitcase to carry all this crap in. Went out on a dinenr date with my friend's friend Jeff. It was really nice, such a gentleman (seriously there are hardly any left these days). And it was so sweet, my friend Charrise surprised me at work on Tuesday with a dozen roses and said they were from Jeff as a way of saying he had a really great time Sunday. :)

Wednesday was crunch time for packing as my flight left SFO at 4pm, and I was still working from home that morning. Made it in plenty of time though, flight was easy breezy, slept through most of it, and the journey home to Bristol also went well. Is nice to be back, can get back into the routine of life here. Not that I don't miss Cali and all my lovely friends and family there- think of you guys all the time!!
